Design Thinking Entrance Analysis

For the circulation diagram, the emphasize is on how the house next to Scott Gym and the parking lot are affecting how people move around the site. Based on the current circulation, the designer can consider how removing the house and opening up the parking area might affect the circulation/how people interact around the future entrance.

In addition, as the entrance site occupies a relatively small amount of space, the diagram shows what part of the site are visible to what part of a distant area, which could be important when deciding the scales of the future entrance.

For the symmetry diagram, the focus is on the Scott Gym windows. Since the windows are major elements of the wall next to the site, they are crucial to the design of the entrance– how they will interact functionally, visually, and etc.
