Digital Labor and the Limits of Design

Join the Design Thinking Initiative as we host Lilly Irani for the final event this year in our Speaking of Design… lecture series. Lilly Irani is Assistant Professor of Communication & Science Studies at University of California, San Diego. She is a co-founder and maintainer of digital labor activism tool Turkopticon. In her lecture, Lilly Irani will discuss the lessons learned from designing and running Turkopticon, offer implications for how activists approach design interventions, and share reflections on how discourses of “design thinking” can produce rather than address inequality.
